This was a simple website that queried streaming services
for current programming and game development streams.
My goal was to make these more discoverable, especially
given the fact that search on Twitch.tv keeps getting worse.
However, due to ever-changing APIs, getting data out of
these platforms has become a recurring chore that takes
significant time to update again and again. Investing whole days
of my life every year just to keep a non-profit niche website
running is probably a bad idea. I heard
somewhere that programmers spend most of their time figuring
out how to interface with obtuse systems - and that seems
anecdotally true. I want to have
less of this completely artificial nonsense in my life.
