This is a list of some #GameDev compos you might want to check out.
The gold standard of gamedev compos. It takes place three times a year and has two modes of participation: "compo" (you make a game from scratch solo in 48 hours and publish the source) and "jam" (you can be in a team, can keep the source closed, use pre-made assets, and you have 72 hours to complete). The theme is announced when the compo starts. Entries are judged by other people who have submitted games.
Alakajam was created by former Ludum Dare participants. It still a work in progress. The first compo will be held on September 22nd through September 24th 2017. The rules are probably going to be similar to Ludum Dare.
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is an annual distributed game jam. At each site, participants gather to develop games and present them to the global community, all in a limited time span. As of 2013, GGJ is managed by Global Game Jam Incorporated. (corporate)
Nordic Game Jam is an annual game jam that takes place in Copenhagen. It is the biggest videogame-related event in Denmark and one of the largest game jams in the world, with 900 participants as of 2016. (corporate)
This compo takes place every Saturday at 20:00 UTC. At the start of the hour, the theme is announced and you have one hour to make a game.
